Get Involved

Join our community in forming transformational relationships with our students through various ways including volunteering, mentoring, joining our Reading Buddies program or committing to an internship.

Change the World, One Student At A Time

Our volunteers make an impact each week in the lives of kids by being a positive, consistent, and committed role model. We invite you to join us because Exodus cannot run our program without your help.

As an Exodus volunteer, you can help a student discover and build confidence in their gifts and talents, and help support their academic and personal growth.  We invite you to come and serve as a positive role model for a child or teen in need. By assisting the tutors in their classrooms to helping the students with their homework – you can help us make every hour in the afterschool program count.

Reading buddies

Volunteers work with students beginning in kindergarten on reading. Through the 100 Book Challenge curriculums, students accomplish two things: First, a love of reading that begins early and lasts a lifetime; Second, guided reading sessions and time set aside for independent reading every single day.

This improves comprehension and increases the amount of time they read by choice.
Come to meet our students at our library and help them read!

Elementary and Middle School Mentors

As an Elementary and Middle School Mentor, you will be able to help our students explore what it means to discover and pursue their God-given potential. Volunteers mentor K-8th graders on Saturdays throughout the school year. In class settings based on age groups and gender, you’ll be able to share Bible-based teachings, creative activities, and attend fun field trips. Come join us today!

High School Mentors

As a High School Mentor you will be able to support our high school students with advice, network opportunities, and helping them stay on track. You will be there to guide our students through the tough years of high school and even through the confusing year of college.

Our goal is to have a mentor for every high school student by 2020. We would love if you can join us a meet our goal.

Full and part-time internships are available year round with the opportunity for flexible schedules.

Students will gain experience in fundraising, event planning and insights into non-profit management including having an opportunity to work with staff members, the CEO and Chief Program Director.

Internships are unpaid, credit-based but successful participants will have an opportunity to receive a stipend at the conclusion of the internship.

For all internships, we require a three-month commitment. OEIC will work with educational institutions to meet academic credit requirements, if applicable.
